Our Mission

The mission of the Human Kidney and Urine Proteome Project (HKUPP) is:
1)  To facilitate kidney and urine proteomics and to analyze proteomes of the kidney and urine in both normal and disease conditions,
2)  To understand kidney functions and pathophysiology of kidney diseases by proteomics and bioinformatics,
3)  To construct databases of the kidney and urine proteomes in normal and diseased states and to open those for public to spread the proteome data in nephrology society through the HKUPP website (http://www.hkupp.org),
4)  To collaborate with other HUPO initiatives for disclosure of uniqueness of kidney proteome and of kidney disease-related proteins,
5)  To propose novel urinary biomarkers for kidney diseases and new drug targets for kidney diseases,
